What does one look for when shopping for a white dress? I find the first thing I look at is the material and its see through quality. If you can see through it then it is not for me. I never liked a dress that I thought I could wear only to find the sun offered a more revealing nature to the dress than I intended. I will hold the white dress up to the light to make sure I cannot see through the layer of material.
The ways to avoid the see through white dress would be to wear a slip under the dress. There are full slips and half-slips available. Picking out underclothing that closely matches the skin tone is the best type of underclothing to wear with a thin white dress. If the dress is tight fitting than no thongs or dark colors for the white dress. The white dress can look spectacular if worn correctly or it can be a disastrous color and can turn tacky quickly if the wrong under clothing is used.
Spring is here and the white dress is a perfect color for this time of year. I find when I wear a white dress it lightens the mood and puts a spring into my step. The color can liven up the atmosphere and bring a breath of freshness into the wardrobe. Winter months tend to give us darker colors. Spring is a wonderful time of the year to bring out the lighter colors and enjoy life.
